The Boy, Motivated to Motivation

404 Music Not Found

This is going to be a tough one to write about as it’s not something I already have planned out from start to finish in my head. This is totally off script, unrehearsed…so prepare for some awkward moments lol.

Motivation. Such a simple word with a complex meaning. We all know what it means so there’s no need for some stupid dictionary definition. The meaning isn’t even important, it’s finding the motivation that matters.

And lemme tell ya, I had hit a super big slump in that department.

Wonderful Source of Color Inspiration

This is what I LOVE!!  I just adore the color palettes she creates!

from Design Seeds Website

These colors soothe my soul and make me smile.  Imagine sitting and sipping some chai tea with a couple of pieces of lightly browned toast with a bit of strawberry jam,  music gently playing in the background.

Enjoying the morning sunshine and planning how to spend a day set aside just for you! Cheers!

It’s turning out to be a beautiful day!

Inspiration

Inspiration.   Motivation.  Determination.  They flow together quite nicely don’t you think?

The Boy and I were discussing the three ‘ations‘ halfheartedly  and in general at first but the more we spoke, the more it clicked and the more exciting and in-depth it became until… we stared at each with raised eyebrows and pursed lips in the realization that we had talked ourselves right into an epiphany.

We’re pretty sure it has to do with it being a new year and not wanting to be in the same spot next January 11th as we are now.  It’s a feeling of something stirring inside and you’re just so excited and it wants to bubble out in some way and you’re not sure which way to aim it.  And no it wasn’t gas.

Black and Beige or What I’ve Learned About Me Part 1

Okay I’m one of the least fashion conscious women that I know.  Believe that I’m more of a jeans and high tops kinda chick usually in black.

A classic Black pair of Converse All-Stars res...

Image via Wikipedia This is what I'm talkin' about

I’m not fussy about what I wear if its clean, and neat and covers all the right parts I’m all over it.

Make up is minimal which translates to nonexistent.  I’d prefer to sleep that extra 30 minutes than use it to futz with my face.  The Boy and I tend to go round and round about this every so often which translates into more often than I’d like and he gets the side eye.  So when I stumbled upon polyvore and decided to stay and play for a bit I was umm surprised at myself.

Black and Beige or What I’ve Learned About Me Part 2

Black and Beige

I picked my favorite shade can i just say hooray for black! Hooray! Then I decided to go for something neutral so I picked beige.  Went on the hunt for a pair of flowing pants, I’ve always loved palazzo pants, a nice black lace shirt, a subtle pair of black and beige pumps, some beige nail polish.  I usually go sans polish, but why not.  A nice little arm band, a small beige clutch and a pair of shades cause my future is so bright.  and Voila a born and raised New York girl with her first polyvore.  What do you think? Not to shabby eh?

What I learned:

  1. This isn’t too bad I might do it again.
  2. Holy Crow!! I’ve got some expensive tastes.  This outfit was almost $1500.00 sans tax. Needless to say I won’t be owning it anytime soon.
  3. My sense of fashion isn’t too shabby.
  4. Seems I like Alexander McQueen shoes, and Marc Jacob bags.
  5. Most importantly The Boy would be proud!

Dinner Menu Today

Cooking is a passion of mine it’s also a necessity.  We need food to live, to function, to satisfy cravings, and in this household to keep at bay what can oft turn into the fatal disease  ”I’m hungry and I’m going to injure you if I don’t get some food NOW.”  The boy suffers from this malady and I must admit he comes by it honestly, yep he gets it from me.  Oh the stories I could tell, but I won’t.

I’m a very good cook, not to blow my own whisk so to speak but I come by it naturally my dad was a chef.  I find cooking to be a great stress reliever.  I have been known to mix it up in the kitchen @ 2 in the a.m. trying to work out issues in my head.    I find it cathartic to blend different elements together into one new element.  It’s one of many ways at my disposal that helps to scratch that creative itch I get regularly.  Continue reading
